Frequently Asked Questions
Will I still be hungry after the tour?
The tour is designed to satisfy appetites, large or small, and be a full lunch. The specific tour schedule is subject to restaurant schedules, availability, menu adjustments, etc., but any venue changes will be of similar quality. We’ll also provide restaurant and bar recommendations for happy hour and dinner that you can explore on your own after the tour.
When are the tours scheduled?
We run tours in the fall, winter and spring seasons, starting in late September or early October and ending in late May or early June. You can check our specific schedule under the Book Now link on the website.
Where do we meet?
For our Downtown tour we meet in front of the Marilyn Monroe statue at the corner of Museum Way and Belardo Road. For our Uptown Design District Tour we meet at a nearby coffee shop which will be our first stop on the tour.
How long is the tour?
The tour lasts three to three and one-half hours. We normally schedule only one tour per day, so there is no need to rush. We’re here in Palm Springs to relax and enjoy ourselves!
How much do I walk?
The tours are about one and one-quarter miles on level surfaces. We walk at a leisurely pace and have several opportunities to sit along the way at our various restaurant stops.
What do I need to bring?
A photo ID such as a driver’s license, as we will be served alcohol, and a water bottle to stay hydrated between stops.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, breathable clothing, with a hat for sun protection is the order of the day. Wear sun screen and comfortable walking shoes.
What is your cancellation policy?
We’ll cancel only if there is a major weather concern, there are fewer than two scheduled guests or our guide is unable to do the tour. In such cases, you will be notified and receive a full refund. If there’s a concern about possible rain or cool temperatures, bring a jacket.
What if I need to cancel?
You’ll receive a full refund if you cancel with 48 hours notice and a partial refund for 24-48 hours notice.
Will there be bathroom breaks?
Most of our stops will have available bathrooms and there are also bathrooms en route.
What if I’m running late?
We ask that all of our guests arrive ten minutes early to allow time to check in and meet other guests. If you are going to arrive late, please call or text your tour guide to let him know and make your way to our first restaurant stop to join the group. It will be only a short distance from our meeting point.
Where should I park?
One of the joys of Palm Springs is ample free downtown parking. Unless special events are happening, you will be able to find free nearby street and lot parking. If you are here during the height of our busy season (Feb., March and April) you will find parking but it may take a bit more time.
Do you also offer private tours?
Yes. Check the information on this site under the Other Tours tab.
Is there an age limit?
The tour is open to people of all ages. Children under 3 are free.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Let us know in advance and we’ll try to make reasonable accommodations for your needs, recognizing that it may not be possible to fully accommodate.
What if I don’t drink alcohol?
Non-alcoholic drinks are available at your option and will be included in the tour cost in lieu of alcoholic drinks at three of the stops
What if I have physical restrictions or disabilities that limit my walking?
Our tour can accommodate people with walkers, canes and wheelchairs, especially if other people in your group can help as needed with curbs or the occasional step up or down. While we move at a leisurely pace, you should decide whether a distance of approximately 1 1/4 miles will be manageable and enjoyable for you. If you decide to book, let us know of any restrictions or limitations.
Are there any physical risks of injury or harm on the tour?
We’ll be walking on sidewalks through areas with vehicle traffic on the streets. It’s important to pay attention when crossing streets and when walking on the sidewalks. We’ll be offering small to moderate amounts of wine and cocktails, which could affect your balance and coordination. Palm Springs is a warm desert climate and you need to be aware of the importance of drinking water and sun protection. You’ll be responsible for your own safety and well-being at all times. A waiver and acknowledgement of personal responsibility must be signed prior to the tour.
